Individual Psychotherapy

Individual therapy is conducted in a 1:1 format and is most commonly indicated for addressing varying forms of depression, anxiety, addiction, stress managment, etc.. Dr. Scoma has been practicing Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT) for over 10 years and has helped many individuals overcome mental illness, addictive behaviors, and daily stressors during that time. The effectiveness of CBT is impressive in that it a) helps most who fully engage in therapy to reach their treatment goals in a time-limited fashion, and b) teaches the patient to effectively become their own therapist leading to more durable progress and only requiring occassional booster sessions (at most) to maintain the gains achieved throughout treatment.
